...A little bit about me
A designer and doodler based in India, I, Chayanika Sood, began my journey with a specialization in Fine Arts from New Delhi. Over the past eight years, I have worked across corporate communication, advertising, magazine publishing, social media marketing and illustrative arts. I have also worked in the education sector and humanitarian sector, providing exclusive design support to the ICRC’s global resource mobilization teams. Driven by the passion to find creative solutions and create aesthetic products, I realized my love for all types of arts with a desire to do more, learn more, and work to design creative, impactful solutions. Thus, with a series of inspired ideas and passion projects, began my journey as a graphic designer, 3D artist, painter and creator.
As a graphic designer, I have worked on various print design projects ranging from info-graphics, engaging annual reports, donor reports, coffee-table books, out-of-the-box newsletters, innovative book-covers, unique brand identities, illustrations, restaurant interiors, murals, and publications. I specialize in strategizing with clients to help establish a stronger visual solution for their content and present it in contemporary, innovative ways.
In addition, I enjoy working on various art-related projects and like to innovate with different artforms. In 2016, I was a part of the Wishing Chair’s Doodle Collective exhibition in Delhi. Since then, I have worked on various design concepts for interior spaces and other creative projects. During an art-festival hosted by The Lost Tribe in Manali, I hand-painted a mural on their main 13ft x 8ft wall. Most recently, in 2019, I designed and painted the typographic murals at People Places Arts, a theater space in Delhi. I am always on the lookout for the next creative project - be it wall murals, corporate globes, customized doodles, illustrations or ethnic artworks. It was these thoughts that led to the birth of Eggoticons and DoodlesToodles.
I strongly believe that design should be on the agenda of every meeting, in each department. For any project to succeed, it is essential to clearly understand the project history, the project goals, and the target audiences. Only then can we ideate for innovative concepts and brainstorm with key stakeholders (you) to design the best user experience for the campaign or product.
On a completely different note, I enjoy traveling, baking, singing, dancing and collecting happy earrings and crazy mugs (seriously, my wall of mugs is on its way!) I enjoy adding colors and infusing emotions to the dull objects around me and find it hard to not start doodling or painting something. Life is meant to spread happiness and to add flavor in it.
And for those who prefer a more structured version of my life so far, here's my resume...
